Learn to Bargain Effectively to Save Money

Whether you are shopping for jewellery as a souvenir or buying a hand drum to complete your collection of ethnical musical instruments, good bargaining skills can help you maximise the value of your money in whatever marketplace you are in - be it at shopping streets of New York or the exotic bazaars in Israel. Given this, we have provided you here some tips to help you become an excellent bargainer.

Good haggler knows what items they want to buy as well as their value. Thus, your first step would be is to know what you want to purchase. By doing so, you do not waste your own valuable time or that of the seller's. It will also give you an idea on what a certain product is really worth.

The next step to effective bargaining is to determine the price that you are willing to pay. In simple words, set a maximum limit. If the seller's price is too high for you and he cannot afford to lower it down a little, then do not be afraid to refuse and simply walk away. Chances are, the seller may change his mind and accept your asking price.

Lastly, it is important to remember that when you make your first offer, do not make the price ridiculously low. You might just annoy or insult the seller. So, choose a fair amount and be ready to make a compromise if the price is not exactly what you want it. And as you are bargaining, make sure that you speak clearly and directly to the seller and always keep an eye contact. The way you present yourself is important, so there should be a look of seriousness in you. Be courteous too to establish respect.
